Pop Art Icons

Pop Art Icons is a collection of original gouache portraits by Brett Hodges of Quiet Corner Art Studio in Omaha, Nebraska. The series celebrates influential women whose images, voices, presence, and cultural impact continue to shape how we remember art, film, music, fashion, and history.

Each portrait is built around bold black and white silhouettes, clean graphic composition, red accents, and detailed background work. My goal is to create minimalist portraits that remove visual noise while preserving the immediate presence of each figure.

Each original work is hand-painted in my Omaha studio using professional Winsor & Newton gouache on 100% cotton paper. I finish every piece with Dorland’s Wax, creating a protected matte surface that eliminates the need for glass and allows collectors, galleries, and curators to experience the texture of the paint without glare.
