Brides in Red

The Brides in Red series was created to explore bridal imagery in a bold, less traditional way. I wanted these portraits to focus on the woman within the moment, not just the idea of a bride. Through black and white silhouettes, detailed floral backgrounds, and touches of red, each piece reflects confidence, reflection, uncertainty, and strength.

Each original work is hand-painted in my Omaha studio using professional Winsor & Newton gouache on 100% cotton paper. I finish every piece with a specialized coating of Dorland’s Wax. This archival process eliminates the need for glass, allowing collectors to experience the rich and matte texture of the paint without glare.
